Let’s be in prayer for one another and trust God for blessings upon our partners in other lands, financial support, salvation of souls and the building of His kingdom around the world.

INDIA
Brother Kevin – I am well by the grace of God and your prayer support. Your prayer support is essential for me, for my ministry, for the Maithili people. Because I know prayer brings victory in Maithili area. So please continue pray for me, for my ministry and for Maithili area people.

Good news! The New Testament is published in Maithili language .There were no any scripture in Maithili language before but thanks to God that this time NT is published and Maithili people read God’s word in their own language. Sister Miriam also came from Canada on the occasion of NT being published
One time God spoke to me from the verse of Dut.31:6.Here one word is BE STRONG. God spoke to me that the Maithili people should be strong in three ways: One is Be strong in prayer life, second is Be strong in God’s word and third is Be strong to walk on the God’s word. God told me, He will then bring the flood of Holy Spirit and all the dams that Satan has made will wash away. And every people will shout Hallelujah! That day will be a Glorious day for Maithili area. So we need your prayer support. Please pray for Maithili people to BE STRONG in prayer life, in God’s word and to walk in God’s word. CUBA
Pray for a seamless transition as the Cuba ministry transfers from Avant to ASSIST. Letters have been sent to all the supporters and the date of the transfer is August 1, 2010. This is a thrilling development for ASSIST so pray for all to go smoothly and that the donors will continue to support the work in Cuba. Also pray for upcoming trips to Cuba in January and March, 2011.

EGYPT
Documents have been sent to establish a working relationship between ASSIST and the Egyptian leaders. Pray that the administrative details can be looked after quickly and accurately and that the support to Egypt can commence soon. Please understand that names and places cannot be used in some nations where ASSIST ministers. Pray for God to protect and bless His people in these lands!

NICARAGUA
Pastor Favio from Managua writes: “Greetings to all the ASSIST family. Pray for our four church planters: Pastor Vicente Aguirre in Granada; Pastor Donald Narvaez in Masaya; Pastor Oscar Gadea in Diriamba, and the new Mission in Motastepe with Pastor Bismark Grouse. I ask to you furthermore that you pray by my Eveling wife who suffered a burn in her right hand the week past and is still receiving treatment. I hope that she soon recovers, I am cooking for my family every day and helping a little. I send many greetings to you and all friends with ASSIST.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Pray for Terry Lane and Leonard Lwesso as they prepare to visit DRC in October. Foundations of Hope will expand training and funding for the Salem Women’s Co-op. Pictured below are women at the co-op making soap. Micro financing helps these women re-establish themselves in DRC.

Pray for Pastor Othniel in Goma, Pastor Jackson and congregation in Bukavu and for the refugees at CCLK camp as they are dispersed and begin to journey back to their home areas.

Welcome

ASSIST Canada welcomes Doug Williamson as our new full-time Director of Global Initiatives. Doug brings to ASSIST his experience in sales and procurement management as well as his gifts in administration.  Doug has a heart and passion for the ministries of ASSIST and has traveled many times to Nicaragua.  As Director of Global Initiatives, Doug will oversee many of the current ASSIST projects as well as recommend new projects to the ASSIST board. 

Announcement:

ASSIST announces the opening of Ryn’s Gift Store and Sears Catalogue Store. Ryn’s was recently purchased by a group of private investors who have designated all the store’s net profits to ASSIST Canada in support of our global projects. The store specializes in gift items as well as fair trade products from Nicaragua and other countries.
